The Femdom FAQ
I was hoping to post this as a free resource, but there is a lot of misinformation about femdom, so some of this may not be 100% accurate. Some women have reported using it incorrectly, but I have also seen it used correctly.
There are some major problems with the terminology on this topic, the most important of which is that there is no one single term. There is not a term for "spanking", "punching", "pushing", or "squeezing", just to name a few. A lot of women's self-definitions have evolved to be specific to their experience with femdom. A lot of people are using the term "domme", which is problematic because "dom" is a gender-neutral word. "Femdom" is more specific than "domme". "Femdom" is a word that women can apply to themselves. I don't think it's fair to single out a word that people use interchangeably and then try to argue for its exclusion from the community. I'd like to see femdom included, but not with the expectation that you have to be "spanked" or "punched" or "pushed" or "squeezed". I am very uncomfortable with the idea that if someone says femdom it means they think that being dominated is good. There is a certain aspect of my own femininity that I like.
